Personal Training
Every plan starts with a comprehensive evaluation performed by a doctor of physical therapy to determine your baseline fitness level (Movement limitations, strength, speed, and power). You choose which package is best for you and your fitness goals and our highly trained and experienced PTs will help you crush your goals. In addition to our personal trainers working directly with out PTs you will be reassessed by our PTs regularly to track progress.
Traditional Physical Therapy
Our doctor of physical therapy will perform a comprehensive evaluation to determine your specific diagnosis and create a customized plan based on your unique situation. At PhysioFit we believe everybody is an athlete from our grandmothers playing with their grandkids to professional athletes, and as a result we treat a wide range of impairments and peopel.
Body Work
1 hour treatments aimed at improving pain, restoring normal motion, and optimizing function. One of our highly trained manual therapist will perform an individualized evaluation in order to determine your specific limitations and will correct each limitation. Together, you and your clinician will determine what treatment techniques are best suited for you and your limitations. Techniques include cupping, dry needling, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization, and stretching.

Dr. Chris O'Connor
Owner & Head Physical Therapist

Meet Dr. Chris O'Connor, DPT, MTC, FDN.
​
Dr. Chris O’Connor is a dedicated and experienced physical therapist who brings a passion for movement, performance, and patient-centered care to his practice. A Chapel Hill native and lifelong Tar Heels fan, Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from Elon University before completing his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida.

Chris holds advanced certifications in Manual Therapy (MTC), Functional Dry Needling (FDN), and Cupping Therapy, allowing him to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to orthopedic and sports rehabilitation. His background as a former athlete and sports performance specialist gives him a unique understanding of how to help patients—from competitive athletes to active adults—recover from injury, enhance performance, and return to the activities they love most.

As the owner and head physical therapist at PhysioFit Physical Therapy and Sports Performance, Chris is committed to clinical excellence and lifelong learning. He takes pride in creating individualized treatment plans that combine hands-on techniques with education and movement-based strategies to promote long-term results.
​
Outside the clinic, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Tiffany—PhysioFit’s office manager—their three sons, and their family dog. He loves staying active through wake surfing, fishing, and watching his boys play sports. Whether on the lake or on the sidelines, Chris brings the same energy and enthusiasm he shares with his patients every day.
Dr. Hayley Phillips
Physical Therapist
Meet Dr. Hayley Phillips, DPT, FDN.

Originally from Welcome, North Carolina, Dr. Hayley Phillips brings a lifelong passion for sports, fitness, and movement to her work in physical therapy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and went on to complete her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Wingate University.
​
Hayley is dedicated to helping people of all ages improve their mobility, recover from injury, and enhance their overall quality of life. With several years of clinical experience, she has worked with a wide range of patients—from pediatrics to geriatrics—and has a special interest in post-surgical rehabilitation and orthopedic injuries.
​
She is certified in Functional Dry Needling and stays committed to expanding her skillset to offer the most effective, personalized care possible.
​
Outside of the clinic, Hayley enjoys spending quality time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends. She’s also a fan of group fitness classes and living an active lifestyle that reflects the values she shares with her patients.

Dr. Michael Nielsen
Physical Therapist

Dr. Michael Nielsen is a compassionate and dedicated physical therapist who is committed to helping his patients restore mobility, recover from injury, and return to the activities they love most. Originally from Wisconsin, Michael earned his Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Wisconsin–Stout and his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from High Point University in North Carolina.
​
He is certified in Functional Dry Needling and has advanced training in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports injury management, and vestibular and concussion therapy. His evidence-based, patient-centered approach focuses on creating personalized treatment plans and empowering each individual through education, collaboration, and active participation in their recovery.
​
With over five years of clinical experience, Michael has worked with a wide range of patients—from professional athletes and weekend warriors to older adults and post-surgical patients. He finds great fulfillment in helping others overcome pain, improve performance, and regain confidence in movement.
​
Outside the clinic, Michael enjoys staying active through hiking, working out, and playing pickleball, golf, and basketball. He and his wife love walking their dog, hosting board game nights, and spending time with their baby girl. A lifelong sports fan, Michael is always up for talking game-day highlights and continues his ongoing quest to find the best pizza and burgers in town.
Dr. Heather Stephens
Physical Therapist

Meet Dr. Heather Stephens, DPT, FDN.

Dr. Heather Stephens is a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her practice. A San Diego native, Heather earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Southwest Baptist University in Missouri. She also holds a Master of Science in Health Care Delivery and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, both from Arizona State University.

Heather is certified in Functional Dry Needling and Advanced Musculoskeletal Management of the Pelvic Girdle, allowing her to offer a specialized approach to treating a wide range of orthopedic conditions.
​
With a background in dance and cheerleading, Heather has a passion for working with athletes of all levels—from young and collegiate athletes to weekend warriors. She takes pride in helping her patients recover from injury, regain strength, and return to the activities they love most. Her greatest motivation comes from watching her patients push beyond their limits and achieve their goals both in and out of the clinic.

Outside the office, Heather enjoys staying active, attending country music concerts, watching Padres baseball and college football, and spending quality time with her family, close friends, and church community
Theisen Lee
Sports Performance & Personal Trainer

Meet Theisen Lee, Sports Performance and Personal Trainer

Theisen grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where his love for sports and healthy living began at a young age. A devoted Ohio State Buckeyes fan, he played both football and basketball before focusing on basketball throughout high school and college. He went on to play four years at the collegiate level as a guard, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a minor in Sports Management from New England College.
​
Theisen’s passion for athletic performance and injury prevention is deeply personal. Having experienced injuries during his own athletic career—without fully understanding how to recover—he developed a strong desire to support other athletes facing similar challenges. Today, he channels that experience into helping clients improve strength, prevent injuries, and achieve peak performance.
​
As a Sports Performance and Personal Trainer, Theisen is committed to delivering evidence-based, results-driven training programs tailored to each athlete’s needs. He stays up-to-date on the latest research and techniques to ensure his clients receive the highest level of care and performance coaching.
When he’s not training clients, you’ll likely find Theisen lifting weights, practicing on the basketball court, going for a run, or spending time with friends. A true sports enthusiast, he enjoys watching just about every sport and brings that same energy and passion into his work every day.
Holden Stephens
Exercise Technician

Meet Holden Stephens, a dedicated Exercise Technician and Certified Personal Trainer with a strong focus on Corrective Exercise and holistic wellness. Certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) in 2025, Holden also holds credentials as a Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist and Certified Nutrition Specialist.
​
Holden’s passion for health and performance stems from his own background as a multi-sport athlete. He played college baseball at Arizona Christian University and grew up competing in football and basketball as well. This athletic experience fuels his commitment to helping young athletes build strength, prevent injury, and perform at their best.
​
Whether you’re just getting started, looking to improve form and function, lose weight, or simply need someone to hold you accountable, Holden is passionate about helping individuals of all ages and fitness levels reach their goals. He takes a personalized, education-based approach to training, empowering clients to build healthy, lasting habits.

When he’s not working with clients, you’ll likely find Holden in the gym, hiking with his wife, or catching a football game.
Maddie McKinney
Front Desk

Meet Madisyn “Maddie” McKinney! Originally from Washington County, Maryland, Maddie recently made the move to Charlotte, North Carolina, bringing her passion for health, fitness, and helping others along with her.
A graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, Maddie has always been drawn to the medical field and finds fulfillment in supporting others on their journey to better health. Her years of playing competitive volleyball sparked a lasting love for athletics and living an active lifestyle.

Maddie thrives on connecting with people and creating a welcoming, positive environment. Outside of work, you’ll find her staying active, spending quality time with friends and family, and continuously exploring new ways to grow in health and wellness.

Tiffany O'Connor
Owner & Operations Manager
Tiffany grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where she developed a love for all sports, especially basketball and football. She graduated from the University of South Carolina (Go Cocks!!) with a degree in psychology and a minor in social work. She spent many years doing social work and now cherishes the opportunity to focus on PhysioFit and her 3 boys, 4 if you include Chris!
Tiffany is the co-owner of PhysioFit with her husband Chris. You will catch her on the phone with insurance companies or distracting all of the patients by talking too much. She is our billing extraordinaire so if you have billing questions, call and ask for Tiffany!
Tiffany loves to work out at Burn Bootcamp and spend time with her boys, shuttling them to their many sports practices and games! In the summer, she prefers to be on the boat or at the pool near water. You will see her bubbly personality and smile often during your time at PhysioFit.
